Thank you Michael, actually that was my thinking … i have pitched this “fake” venture several times and people are somewhat skeptical as indeed, it is not mandatory and they prefer to keep the mountain “open and for everyone”. I do agree that more rules and regulations might have a negative impact, but I keep thinking about the diving sport where it is really out of your mind to go diving without knowing the risks and actions that need to be taken. Under the water you take much less extra risk if you know you are not having the right level or equipment. In the mountains often people just follow on another. I experienced this often myself, asking my friends “if something happens” do you know how to safe me? Or do i dare to say i know how I could potentially safe you… Anyways, I am letting my mountain passion speak, not the the EVA 🙂
