Welcome Jesse! We’re currently working on BYOD for the 7/8’s in our K-8 school. I would certainly appreciate any insights you are willing to share 🙂 The husband of one of my colleagues is involved with SMART as well in their product development team. Perhaps this might be an avenue to explore for a project?

Hi Dan, for BYOD, I'd say the most important things to keep in mind are security and bandwidth; it's a big commitment (infrastructure wise) to support the increase in traffic. If your school has a fiber connection (or two), you're probably fine, but definitely keep in mind the reliance on the backend of your network. If your internet is down, so is most of your learning capability! As for SMART... unfortunately, I don't have a ton of positive experiences with it, so maybe I'll just keep quiet :)
