I think that this is a natural progression for google. I like the idea very much. I have been waiting for a google apps framework that has been designed with educators in mind that has respect of privacy and no advertising. I am excited to use this with my students!

I was excited to see experience design in this list given it is a hot topic for industrial, interactive and communications designers and realates greatly to my field. In a world filled with so much visible (and invisible) technology there is much opportunity to design streamlined interactive and informational experiences. As Kendra mentions, this can include all manner of wearables (healthcare/fitness, monitoring, navigational, assistive and augmentative). Experience design is also evident in how one interacts in lived and digitally enhanced spaces. Ideas, images and stories can be embedded into parks, museums and other public spaces using mobile and near field communications technologies. Experience design is also concerns the service industry in a big way as businesses and industries embed more technology into retail and service spaces. It is an exciting frontier!
